COVID-19 TOPx Solutions Showcase

The Census Open Innovation Labs, in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is set to host a virtual event May 25, 2021, showcasing digital solutions designed to address COVID-19 diagnostic data challenges. These digital solutions were created through a COVID-19 TOPx tech sprint with input from leading government and industry experts.

The COVID-19 TOPx Solutions Showcase will feature:

* Live demos featuring digital products developed through the sprint.

* Speakers including Ron Jarmin, acting director of the U.S. Census Bureau; DJ Patil, board member, Devoted Health, and former U.S. chief data scientist; and Kristen Honey, chief data scientist and senior advisor to the assistant secretary of health, HHS.

* Lightning talks and panel and interactive sessions.

TOPx, modeled on The Opportunity Project (TOP), is an innovation program led by Census Open Innovation Labs at the Census Bureau. Through technology development sprints, TOPx engages government, technology experts, and communities to co-create digital products for the public using federal open data. To date, more than 1,500 people, 30 federal agencies, and hundreds of organizations have participated in TOP sprints, resulting in over 135 new open data tools including apps, websites, mapping tools, data visualizations, games and more.
