TSA to offer expedited screening to passengers enrolled in TSA Pre✓® at Atlantic City Airport

The following local press release was published by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration on Jan. 26, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin to offer expedited screening to passengers departing Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) who are enrolled in TSA Pre✓® starting Jan. 27.

ACY Airport does not have a checkpoint lane or staffing that is dedicated solely to screening travelers enrolled in TSA Pre✓®, however individuals with the TSA Pre✓® designation on their boarding passes will be permitted to leave their shoes on when they enter the checkpoint, thus allowing them to get some benefit from their enrollment in the program.

When those same passengers fly to ACY from larger airports, they will be able to take full advantage of the TSA Pre✓® benefits. Larger airports with a lane dedicated to screening travelers who are enrolled in TSA Pre✓® have additional screening equipment and additional staffing to handle the large number of passengers that fly out of those airports. They will be able to leave their computers in their carry-on cases; leave their 3-1-1 liquids/gels/aerosols bag in their carry-on bag; and leave their lightweight coats on as they pass through the checkpoint in addition to leaving on their shoes.

For more information on the TSA Pre✓® experience and how to enroll, visit the TSA web site here.
