On behalf of the United States, I would like to extend our thanks to the facilitator for the successful shepherding of this resolution. We are pleased to join consensus on this resolution.
The United States supports efforts at all levels to promote the environmentally sound management of waste. We view zero-waste approaches as part of a wide set of solutions to enhance and improve waste management.
We appreciate the efforts of the General Assembly to elevate the profile of zero-waste approaches and look forward to them contributing to environmentally sound waste management overall.
Regarding references to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, we refer you to our general statement delivered to the 77th General Assembly Second Committee session earlier this afternoon.
