TSA to host first time combined recruiting event for Transportation Security Officers and Security Support Assistants for Boston Logan International Airport

The following local press release was published by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration on Sept. 2. It is reproduced in full below.

BOSTON The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is holding a two-day recruiting event Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10. The recruiting event will assist individuals interested in applying for a job as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) or a Security Support Assistant (SSA) at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).

Attendees will receive information about full-and part-time TSO and SSA positions and have the opportunity to complete multiple steps of the hiring process. The event includes a presentation, application assistance, and scheduling for computer based testing. If an applicant does not qualify for a TSO position, they may still have an opportunity to move forward as an SSA at BOS.

Starting pay at BOS is $25.55 per hour. TSA is also offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for BOS, $2,500 after onboarding and an additional $2,500 after one year of service.

The event takes place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boston Logan Airport, 207 Porter St. between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on both days. Because participating in the information session and preliminary hiring process components can take a few hours, TSA recommends arriving early in the day.

Candidates are required to have two valid forms of state or federal identification, as well as proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter the hotel. Attendees will also receive validated valet parking free of charge.

TSA seeks those who want to take the initial step into a rewarding federal career and support TSAs critical mission of protecting our nations transportation systems. For more information on the TSO position and to learn more about TSA careers, visit jobs.tsa.gov/TSO.
