MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - Danielle Nicole Ludwig, of Charles Town, West Virginia, has admitted to charges involving interstate drug trafficking, United States Attorney William Ihlenfeld announced.
Ludwig, 33, pleaded guilty today to one count of “Conspiracy to Interstate Travel in Aid of Racketeering" and one count of “Interstate Travel in Aid of Racketeering Enterprises." Ludwig admitted to traveling to Baltimore, Maryland, with another person to purchase heroin and then traveling back to West Virginia to sell the drug. The crimes took place in December 2017 in Jefferson County and elsewhere.
Ludwig faces up to five years of incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000 for each count. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Conklin is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigated.
