Kizazi Hodari Southern

Tanzania’s Southern Zone has the highest orphanage rates in the country (with Iringa at 13% and Ruvuma at 12%) and most HIV+ children diagnosed late and at an advanced stage of disease progression.

Children Living with HIV (CLHIV) face challenges with accessing Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and healthcare services because most are born to women who do not access or partially access Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) services.

The Kizazi Hodari Southern Zone Activity will work and collaborate with stakeholders in 5 regions to strengthen linkages between facility and community levels to support and provide technical leadership on child protection and scale up HIV prevention and violence prevention and implement DREAMS in Mufindi Council.
