State Department publishes 1 notice in week ending Jan. 21

There was one notice published by the State Department in week ending Jan. 21, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Notice of Charter Renewal for the Advisory Committee on Historical Diplomatic Documentation, was submitted on January 20, 2023.

The State Department published five the week before, marking an 80 percent decrease.

The State Department is responsibly for international relations with a budget of more than $50 billion. Tenure at the State Dept. is increasingly tenuous and it's seen as an extension of the President's will, ambitions and flaws.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
