EPA conducts free seminars in Miami on the dangers of lead

Tuesday, February 28 and Thursday, March 02 2023, the US Environmental Protection Agency. USA. ( EPA ) in association with Green America will facilitate sessions of the lead awareness curriculum at the New Professional Technical Institute ( NPTI ) at 4000 W. Flagler St. Miami, FL as part of the third round of the Enhancement of Safe Work Practices with Lead initiative through Education and Disclosure ( acronym in English-ELSWPEO ). These sessions aim to increase awareness of lead, its impacts, and actions to reduce and / or prevent lead exposure.

Lead awareness in Indian territory: Keeping our children healthy! The curriculum known as the Lead Awareness Curriculum is a set of educational tools designed to be used by any community leader to raise awareness of the exhibition children's lead, broaden the community's understanding of the potential impacts of lead, especially on children's health, and explore actions that can be to reduce and/or prevent childhood lead exposure. The curriculum was developed with tribes, but was designed to adapt to all communities, including non-tribal communities. As part of EPA's local outreach and training initiative to reduce child lead exposure, we are offering the following sessions:

  • Lead understanding session for any member of the community interested in learning more about lead, its impacts and actions to prevent lead exposure and lead poisoning.
  • Training of instructors on the Lead Awareness Curriculum
