The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Texas announced an application cutoff date of May 5, 2023, for the Hill Country Headwaters Conservation Initiative through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). RCPP is a partner-driven approach to conservation that funds solutions to natural resource challenges on agriculture land.
The Hill Country Headwaters Conservation Initiative through Farm Bill 2014 RCPP is a partnership with the Hill Country Conservancy. Funding is available for both RCPP-Conservation Stewardship Program (RCPP-CSP) and RCPP-Environmental Quality Incentives Program (RCPP-EQIP). This initiative aims to help landowners with projects addressing short-term and long-term conservation of water quality, wildlife habitat, and drought and flood management in the Barton Creek, Blanco River, Llano River, Onion Creek, Pedernales River, Sandy Creek and Upper San Marcos River Watersheds.
Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the Hill Country Conservancy’s website for more information and to complete the pre-application screening prior to submitting an application for assistance with the local NRCS Field
Office.Applying for AssistanceThe NRCS accepts applications for its conservation programs year-round however, applications must be submitted by the dates above to be considered for funding in FY2023.
Applications received after the above will be automatically deferred to the next funding period. Producers, landowners, and forest managers interested in applying for assistance should contact the local NRCS Field Office. Applicants are encouraged to schedule an appointment with their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) County Office when applying for NRCS programs to establish or update records. Local NRCS Field Offices and FSA County Offices can be located using the USDA Service Center Locator.
