Apple has reportedly unveiled the most potent Macs every created — the new Mac Studio and Mac Pro.

Along with M2 Max and the new M2 Ultra, Mac Studio offers a major improvement in performance and connectivity in one package, according to a June 5 news release. It is up to three times faster than the previous Mac Studio generation with M1 Ultra. It is also up to six times faster than most 27 inch Intel-based iMac1.

“The new Mac Studio and Mac Pro with Apple silicon are the two most powerful Macs we’ve ever made,” Apple Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering John Ternus in the release. “Mac Studio has been a breakthrough for pros everywhere, and it’s at the heart of hundreds of thousands of home and pro studios across the world. Today, it gets even better with M2 Max and the new M2 Ultra, featuring even more performance and enhanced connectivity."

The M2 Ultra-equipped 2 Mac Pro combines flexibility of PCIe expansion, with the unmatched performance of Apple’s optimal CPU, the release reported. Mac Pro is three times faster than the previous generation.

"And for those users who need the versatility of internal expansion, Mac Pro combines PCIe slots with our most powerful chip," Ternus added, according to the release. "The new Mac Studio and Mac Pro join our other pro systems to give our users the most powerful and capable lineup of pro products that Apple has ever offered.”

The two new products can handle tasks that most systems can’t handle because of having up to 192 GB of unified memory, which is far more than most other workstation graphic cards, the release said.

Mac Studio helps professionals create the best studio possible, offering a significant improvement in performance thanks to M2 Max and M2 Ultra, according to the release. It has a 12-core CPU, 38-core GPU and up to 96 GB of unified memory with 400 GBs of bandwith for memory.

M2 Ultra is Apple’s largest, most powerful system on a chip ever, and it offers double the performance and capabilities of M2 Max, the release reported. The most potent 27-inch iMac is up to six times quicker than Mac Studio with M2 Ultra, which is up to three times faster than previous Mac Studios with M1 Ultra2. It offers 24-core CPU, up to a 76-core GPU and up to 192 GB of memory with 800 GBs of unified memory bandwith.

Orders for the Mac Pro and Mac Studio can be made now, with delivery beginning June 13, the release said.
