Moody's Corporation and Microsoft announced a new strategic alliance to provide financial services and international knowledge workers with cutting-edge data, analytics, research, collaboration and risk solutions.

This collaboration aims to offer unique solutions that enhance corporate intelligence and risk assessment, according to a June 29 news release. By combining the strength of Moody's data and analytical capabilities with the power of Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, the partnership is focused on improving data and risk management.

"By combining Microsoft’s cutting-edge AI capabilities with our proprietary data, research and analytics, Moody’s is positioned to lead the next generation of risk analysis, helping our customers make better decisions by unlocking deeper, more integrated and unmatched perspectives on risk,"  Rob Fauber, Moody’s Corporation president and CEO, said in the release. "We have activated our 14,000 global employees to drive unprecedented experimentation and ignite new innovations across our suite of products and solutions. We are excited to partner with Microsoft to set the standard for how generative AI will pioneer new advancements across our industry."

As part of this collaboration, Moody's CoPilot, a cutting-edge tool that integrates Moody's proprietary data, analytics and research with advanced generative AI technology from Microsoft, has been made available to all 14,000 Moody's employees worldwide, the release said. This secure digital sandbox enables enhanced productivity and fosters companywide innovation.

Moody's chose Microsoft Teams as the platform to enhance communication, productivity and collaboration for its knowledge employees and clients, while maintaining strict compliance standards, the release reported. In return, Microsoft gains access to Moody's extensive range of offerings, including the Moody's Orbis database, which provides insights for supply chain management, counterparty risk analysis and third-party reference data.

The collaboration extends further as Microsoft and Moody's partner to leverage Microsoft Fabric, an analytics platform designed for comprehensive data management, according to the release. This partnership aims to deliver valuable data solutions to their shared customers.

Moody's is committed to utilizing Microsoft's Azure cloud platform to fuel the expansion of its generative AI capabilities and cloud-based applications, the release reported.

To provide clients with a comprehensive understanding of risk, Moody's is launching a customer copilot tool called Moody's Research Assistant, the release said. This innovative tool leverages Moody's extensive resources and solutions, delivering insights through a protected environment. Powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service and accessible through various channels, including Microsoft Teams, Moody's Research Assistant collects and summarizes complex information from multiple data sources.

One of the key capabilities of Moody's Research Assistant is its ability to swiftly generate customized, in-depth studies of businesses or industries by integrating data from diverse dimensions, the release reported. This includes firmographic information, credit indicators, economic projections and risk and reputational profiles.

By blending these data points, Moody's Research Assistant equips clients with timely and tailored analyses, enabling them to make informed decisions in a rapidly evolving landscape, according to the release.
