Is there a global war on farmers?
“No Farmers No Food: Will you eat the bugs?" is an EpochTV documentary that delves into the complexities of “green policies.” The film also examines how farmers are being compelled to cease operations, the potential impacts on food supplies, and if edible bugs are in fact the "global green solution.”
Available for streaming on September 25 through EpochTV, host Roman Balmakov investigates these issues by visiting farmers in the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and the United States to reveal the changing farming industry.
There is no doubt that a global food crisis exists, with a reported 828 million people go hungry on a daily basis, Balmakov said in the five-minute documentary preview.
Costs continue to spike for farmers' seeds, chemicals, equipment and other essentials, which results in less food availability. Add to that a rising global population, and the menu does not look promising, according to the preview.
“Fifty percent of farms in Holland will be shut down in the next few years because of government policies,” said Martijn Vorkink, a Dutch farmer.
The movement to change how food is produced and made available to the public goes back three decades, the preview revealed. It points to the Earth Summit Agenda 21, released in the 1990s, now known as Agenda 2030, which sets guidelines for nations to reach in less than seven years. The agenda lists 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) with 169 individual targets.
The documentary was the focus of a panel discussion at FreedomFest in Memphis on July 13.
