IBM recently unveiled the expansion of its IBM Cloud Security and Compliance Center, a suite of modernized cloud security and compliance solutions aimed at helping enterprises manage risk and safeguard data across hybrid and multicloud environments. These innovative solutions are tailored to aid enterprises in navigating the complex terrain of hybrid and multicloud environments while mitigating risks and safeguarding their data, according to a Sept. 6 news release.
"IBM Cloud has a long history of working with clients in financial services and other highly regulated industries, especially when it comes to helping them to drive innovation while protecting their sensitive data," IBM Cloud Product and Industry Platform General Manager Rohit Badlaney said in the release.
As the global business landscape evolves, with supply chain threats and shifting regulations, the IBM Cloud Security and Compliance Center suite emerges as a crucial ally, bolstering resiliency, performance, security and compliance, all while optimizing operational costs, the release reported.
Recent research conducted by IBM revealed a staggering 77% of global business leaders have embraced hybrid cloud strategies. However, more than half of these leaders remain deeply concerned about cloud security and the perceived complexity of maintaining compliance in the cloud environment, according to the release.
To address these pressing challenges, IBM unveiled a forward-looking iteration of the IBM Cloud Security and Compliance Center. This evolution empowers clients to maintain constant vigilance over their security and compliance needs across hybrid and public cloud environments, extending beyond the confines of IBM Cloud, the release said.
One of the pivotal additions to this suite is the IBM Cloud Security and Compliance Center Data Security Broker, a collaborative effort with Baffle Inc. This enhancement elevates the suite's capabilities beyond compliance posture management and workload protection, now encompassing application-level security, the release reported.
Frank Dickson, vice president of security and trust at IDC, emphasized the growing demand for centrally automated and managed technologies capable of implementing security and compliance measures at scale, particularly as enterprises increasingly adopt hybrid, multicloud approaches, according to the release.
He highlighted the critical importance of holistic protection, particularly for organizations in heavily regulated sectors like financial services, where sensitive data management is paramount. The Data Security Broker, he noted, amplifies data protection capabilities, aligning with IBM's commitment to innovative technology that yields superior outcomes, the release said.
