According to the press release issued on Oct. 27, 2023 from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the United States and Mexico have announced 10 new individuals to be targeted under their "Se Busca Información" initiative. The announcement was made during a press conference at the Bridge of the Americas Port of Entry.
As per the CBP press release, the "Se Busca Información" program aims to identify individuals linked to transnational criminal organizations. These individuals are wanted for various crimes including alien smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and murder. Both U.S. and Mexican law enforcement agencies, such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (U.S. Border Patrol and Office of Field Operations) and the Mexican State of Chihuahua, will collaborate to apprehend these dangerous criminals. The cooperation also extends to other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies on both sides of the border.
To aid in the apprehension of these targets, the initiative encourages the public in both countries to report information anonymously. People with information can contact law enforcement at 800-635-2509 or 915-314-8194. Tips can also be submitted via the WhatsApp application. The phone lines are open 24/7, and calls are directed to El Paso Sector Border Patrol call centers.

"It is vital that we engage with community stakeholders and individuals on both sides of the border to obtain their help in finding these wanted criminals," said Anthony "Scott" Good, U.S. Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agent for the El Paso Sector. As stated in the CBP press release, the ultimate goal of the "Se Busca Información" initiative is to make the shared border community safer by increasing public awareness and gathering intelligence.
