Tomorrow, the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions, chaired by Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), will hold a hearing titled "Protecting Workers and Small Businesses from Biden's Attack on Worker Free Choice and Economic Growth." The hearing is scheduled to take place at 10:15 a.m. and aims to shed light on the Biden administration's radical union agenda.
Chairman Good expressed his concerns about this agenda, stating, "The Biden administration’s radical union agenda is a threat to our most fundamental freedoms, including the right to work." He argued that by coercing American workers into union representations, President Biden is limiting their freedom to choose when, where, and how they work. Chairman Good sees this as the federal government acting as an organizing arm of Big Labor, with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) leading the charge.
During the hearing, Republicans will highlight the Left's assault on individual liberty and discuss legislation that promotes employee free choice, preserves the right to work as independent contractors, and protects entrepreneurs and small businesses. The hearing aims to bring attention to the potential negative impact of the Biden administration's union agenda on workers and small businesses.
Several witnesses will testify at the hearing, including Mr. Roger King, Senior Labor and Employment Counsel at the HR Policy Association; Mr. Matthew Haller, President and CEO of the International Franchise Association; Mr. Richard F. Griffin, Of Counsel at Bredhoff and Kaiser; and Mr. F. Vincent Vernuccio, President of the Institute for the American Worker.
The hearing will be open to the press and will also be live-streamed on the Committee's YouTube page, allowing for wider accessibility and transparency.
The hearing serves as a platform for Republicans to voice their concerns about the Biden administration's union agenda and its potential impact on individual freedom, worker choice, and the economy. It also provides an opportunity to explore legislative solutions that prioritize employee free choice, protect the rights of independent contractors, and safeguard the interests of entrepreneurs and small businesses.
