A member of an El Salvadorian gang, previously convicted for selling narcotics, has been apprehended by American law enforcement officials. This was revealed in a social media post by U.S. Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens on X (formerly Twitter).

Owens stated, "1/10: USBP agents in Casa Grande, AZ arrested an El Salvadorian affiliated with MS-13 & the Latin Kings. The subject was previously convicted for selling amphetamines. In FY24 (since Oct. 1), USBP has apprehended 134 subjects with gang affiliations."

In related news, Breitbart reported that five potential terrorists were intercepted while attempting to cross the border between official points of entry by Arizona border patrol in the Tucson Sector on Saturday. According to a source from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) cited by Breitbart, these individuals were subsequently handed over to the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force for further investigation. They reportedly attempted to enter the Border Patrol’s Tucson sector shortly after the end of Title 42 in May of 2023 and were arrested in separate incidents.

The CBP maintains a Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS), also known as the watchlist, which is a comprehensive database of potential terrorists compiled by the federal government. Over the past decade, TSDS has consolidated data on suspected or known terrorists. While arrests of individuals listed on TSDS are rare occurrences, they do happen and underscore the importance of such information for identifying these individuals.

A report from CBP indicates that during this fiscal year, a total of 30 migrants listed in the Terrorist Screening Database have been apprehended after entering America along the southwest border between ports of entry. An additional individual was apprehended after crossing the northern border with Canada.
