The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has unveiled the tenth video in its "Recycling is Real" campaign. The campaign aims to promote and raise awareness about plastic recycling in the United States.

In a press release from PLASTICS, it was revealed that the latest addition to the video series features thermoplastic resin distributor PolyQuest. The company, based in Farmingdale, N.Y., specializes in recycling bottles made from polyethylene terephthalate. Earlier videos in the campaign showcased recycling efforts at Ultra-Poly, Placon, Novolex, MAAG, Niagara Bottling, Epsilyte, Amcor and Envision Plastics as well as a recycling collaboration among TenCate, Cyclyx International and ExxonMobil.

"The Recycling is Real campaign highlights the people of our industry across America who work to recycle valuable materials every single day. We will continue to show the public and lawmakers that recycling is undeniable, and a feasible and economical way to achieve a more circular economy," said Matt Seaholm, President and CEO of PLASTICS.

According to another statement from PLASTICS' press release, the "Recycling is Real" video series also seeks to educate elected officials and policymakers about the role of recycling as a crucial link in the sustainability and circularity chain. The association hopes that these videos will serve as a valuable resource for decision-making processes related to recycling. Furthermore, PLASTICS aims to debunk misconceptions suggesting that plastic recycling is not happening or is merely a myth. "Plastic recycling is very real, and it happens every single day across America, including in Farmingdale, New York," Seaholm added.
