WASHINGTON – The global tech trade association, ITI, has responded to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB)'s final memorandum on the "Advancing Governance, Innovation, and Risk Management for Agency Use of Artificial Intelligence." ITI Executive Vice President of Policy, Gordon Bitko, expressed ITI's support for OMB's approach to responsible AI development and deployment. He stated, "As the leading tech association with extensive public sector expertise, ITI appreciates OMB’s comprehensive approach to responsible AI development and deployment."
Bitko emphasized the importance of prioritizing the building of trustworthy federal AI systems and navigating the complex procurement environment to ensure access to top-notch commercial AI solutions. He highlighted the significance of addressing critical challenges such as workforce development and harmonization across the government for the successful and safe adoption of AI. ITI looks forward to continued partnership with OMB and federal agencies on key issues like risk management standards, competition, intellectual property, and sustainability.
