The Roosevelt Institute welcomes its 2024 class of fellows

The Roosevelt Institute, a progressive policy think tank, has announced its 2024 class of fellows. The incoming cohort of six will address critical issues affecting the economy and democracy.

Suzanne Kahn, vice president of Roosevelt’s think tank, expressed her enthusiasm for the new arrivals in a press release. "As we welcome our new class of fellows to the think tank, I am inspired by the diverse perspectives and expertise they bring to our mission of rebalancing and democratizing power in our society and economy," said Kahn. "Their innovative ideas and dedication to research and policy will be vital in our work to move away from neoliberal policy paradigms and consider new economic policies that build a more equitable economy."

According to a press release from the Roosevelt Institute, the newly appointed fellows include Juniper Katz, an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Policy who will focus on renewable energy development and land use; Michael A. McCarthy, an associate professor of sociology at Marquette University who will concentrate on public-interest financing; Sanjukta Paul, a law professor at the University of Michigan Law School who will explore antitrust and corporate competition from a labor perspective; Diana Reddy, an assistant professor at the UC Berkeley School of Law who will study unions, labor regulations, and the work of the National Labor Relations Board; Benjamin Schoefer, an assistant professor of economics at the University of California, Berkeley who will delve into wages, employment, and labor markets; and Graham Steele, an expert on financial regulation and institutions who will scrutinize financial regulation and banking reform.

Felicia Wong, president and CEO of the Roosevelt Institute commented on this development in their press release. Wong said: "We can’t shift the economic paradigm without people doing the work to provide empirical evidence for a new way of thinking. These fellows are foundational to our strategy to change the narrative and build real progressive power."
