Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco recently delivered remarks at the Disruptive Technology Protection Network Summit, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in combating national security threats. Monaco expressed gratitude to the delegations from Japan and the Republic of Korea for their participation, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the United States and its allies.

Monaco underscored the necessity of partnerships in addressing evolving security challenges, stating, "To combat today’s national security threats, we cannot go it alone. We must work together. We must partner – not only across our own governments — but across the globe." She noted that the formation of the Disruptive Technology Protection Network stemmed from commitments made during talks at Camp David last year.

The Deputy Attorney General highlighted the accomplishments of the Disruptive Technology Strike Force, a joint initiative between the Department of Justice and the Commerce Department. Monaco revealed that the Strike Force has made significant progress in thwarting threats posed by adversaries, with 16 arrests and four guilty pleas secured thus far.

Monaco also addressed the ongoing challenges posed by malign actors, including autocracies, adversaries, and rogue nation-states. She emphasized the importance of addressing threats such as cyberattacks and the weaponization of disruptive technologies by hostile entities.

In closing, Monaco expressed appreciation for the leadership of Assistant Attorney General Matt Olsen and Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Matt Axelrod in spearheading the Disruptive Technology Protection Network initiative. She thanked participants for their dedication to safeguarding national security and reiterated the importance of collective action in confronting future challenges.
