Secretary Antony J. Blinken made a surprise appearance at a music event, where he took to the stage with an unexpected performance on the guitar. The audience, including Mr. Temnyi, responded enthusiastically to his musical prowess.
Blinken used this platform to address the current situation in Ukraine, particularly in Kharkiv's northeast region. He acknowledged the suffering of soldiers and citizens alike during these challenging times.
"These guys sound amazing, 19.99," Blinken said amid cheers from the crowd. "And listen, I know this is a really difficult time. Your soldiers, your citizens, particularly in the northeast in Kharkiv, are suffering tremendously."
The Secretary emphasized that the United States stands with Ukraine and its people during this crisis. He extended his message of solidarity to the global community as well.
"But they need to know, you need to know, the United States is with you," Blinken continued. "So much of the world is with you. And they’re fighting not just for a free Ukraine but for the free world, and the free world is with you too."
In response to Blinken's proposal for a joint musical effort, Mr. Temnyi agreed enthusiastically: "Yeah, sure." It remains unclear whether their collaborative performance was successful as it was followed by music being played.
