The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the appointment of eight new members to its team, under the Biden-Harris Administration. These individuals will be working closely with U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm in addressing climate change and aiding the United States in achieving President Biden’s ambitious clean energy goals.
These appointments continue to reflect the DOE's commitment to diversity, with 59% women, 59% people of color, and 23% of staff identifying as LGBTQ+. "We are excited to welcome this new group of appointees to our team of dedicated public servants focused on the President’s climate goals of 100% clean electricity by 2035 and a net-zero economy by 2050," said DOE Chief of Staff Christopher Davis. "These individuals will bring an array of talent and experience as the Department, under Secretary Granholm’s leadership, implements the President’s Investing in America agenda."
The new appointees include Vanessa Alderete as Deputy White House Liaison, Office of the Secretary; Eric Delaney as Deputy Assistant Secretary for House Affairs, Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs; Brian Eiler as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Senate Affairs, Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs; Christopher Ford as Deputy Press Secretary, Office of Public Affairs; Megan Husted as Special Assistant, Office of Electricity; Alayna Jenkins as Special Assistant for the Secretary’s Briefing Book, Office of Management; Jessica Lee as Associate Administrator for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs; and Mikael Rafiqi as Advance Lead, Office of Management.
