Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken held a discussion with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan regarding a proposed plan aimed at establishing durable peace in Gaza. The proposal seeks to achieve a complete ceasefire, secure the release of all hostages, and significantly increase humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza.
According to Spokesperson Matthew Miller, "They discussed the proposal’s benefits for the people of Gaza, including through the return of civilians to North Gaza and the beginning of a major reconstruction plan."
Secretary Blinken expressed gratitude for the UAE's humanitarian aid provided to Palestinians affected by the conflict. He emphasized that the proposal serves the interests of both Israelis and Palestinians and urged Hamas to accept it without delay.
Both officials reaffirmed their shared commitment to fostering a more secure and prosperous region while strengthening the strategic partnership between the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
