The U.S. Department of Transportation today released the third installment of its "Investing in America" video series, highlighting the role of American-made steel and workers from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, in President Biden's infrastructure projects. The series emphasizes the "Build America, Buy America" provisions within the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Enacted as part of this law, the "Build America, Buy America" Act mandates that all federally funded infrastructure projects utilize American-made iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials. Currently, more than 50,000 projects are underway under this legislation, involving roads, bridges, airports, railways, and transit systems across the nation.

The latest video features members of United Steel Workers (USW) Local 1165 in Coatesville. Among them are Brandon, a third-generation resident of Coatesville, and Stacey, a USW member for over 35 years. Steel produced at their mill is being used nationwide in various infrastructure projects.

Earlier videos in the series include one released in March focusing on the Blatnik Bridge connecting Duluth, Minnesota to Superior, Wisconsin. The bridge would have faced closure without federal investment for repairs. Another video released last month showcased Philadelphia’s Chinatown Stitch project which received $159 million from the Biden-Harris Administration to cap the Vine Street Expressway and address historical inequities.
