Blinken spoke today with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi regarding the Houthi detentions of UN, diplomatic, and NGO staff, as well as the Houthis’ continued reckless attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The Secretary emphasized that such actions jeopardize the peace process in Yemen. Secretary Blinken thanked the Foreign Minister for Oman’s determined and continued efforts to end the conflict in Yemen.

The Secretary and Foreign Minister also addressed ongoing efforts to achieve an enduring ceasefire in Gaza, secure the release of all hostages, and facilitate a surge in humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza.
