Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su is traveling across the United States this summer to engage with workers and employers, highlighting the Biden-Harris administration's commitment to improving job quality. This initiative aims to fulfill the administration's promise of economic growth from the middle out and bottom up by investing federal resources in creating pathways to good jobs for all communities.
Earlier this month, Acting Secretary Su visited Phoenix, Arizona, and Birmingham, Alabama, where she announced that both cities are committed to adopting and implementing the Department of Labor’s Good Jobs Principles. Coverage of the signing in Phoenix is available online.
On June 17, Acting Secretary Su toured an emergency response and property restoration provider’s training facility in Tamarac, Florida. She then announced a public-private partnership aimed at promoting quality jobs that ensure climate resilience. The event featured representatives from Resilience Force and national property restoration companies Signal Restoration Services and PuroClean. The initiative is supported by a Critical Sectors Job Quality Grant awarded by the department to Resilience Force in September 2023.
