Starting this week, Apple is releasing new series and films captured in Apple Immersive Video, debuting exclusively on Apple Vision Pro. This format leverages 3D video recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view and Spatial Audio to immerse viewers in the action.

"Boundless," a new series that offers once-in-a-lifetime trips from any location, premieres today at 6 p.m. PT with "Hot Air Balloons." The next installment of "Wild Life," a nature documentary series, will premiere in August. "Elevated," an aerial travel series showcasing iconic vistas from great heights, will launch in September. Later this year, users can experience performances by artists like The Weeknd; the first scripted short film "Submerged," written and directed by Edward Berger; behind-the-scenes footage of the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend; and "Big-Wave Surfing," part of a new sports series with Red Bull.

"Apple Immersive Video is a groundbreaking leap forward for storytelling, offering Apple Vision Pro users remarkable experiences with an unparalleled sense of realism and immersion," said Tor Myhren, Apple's vice president of Marketing Communications. "From soaring over volcanoes in Hawaii and surfing huge waves in Tahiti to enjoying performances by the world’s biggest artists and athletes from all-new perspectives, Apple Immersive Video revolutionizes the way people experience places, stories, sports, and more by making viewers feel like they’re truly there."

In "Boundless," viewers embark on dream trips meeting inspiring people in extraordinary places. In “Hot Air Balloons,” they soar over Cappadocia, Türkiye. The next episode, “Arctic Surfing,” available this fall, follows surfers seeking wintry waves north of the Arctic Circle.

This August sees the release of the second episode of "Wild Life," set at Kenya’s Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where orphaned elephants thrive under human care. Later episodes will feature divers encountering apex predators in the Bahamas.

The inaugural episode of "Elevated" premieres this September, featuring aerial views of natural wonders across Hawaii. A subsequent episode will explore New England's autumn landscapes.

"Submerged," set during World War II aboard a submarine under torpedo attack, showcases unique storytelling possible with Apple Immersive Video on Apple Vision Pro. It premieres this fall.

Basketball fans can look forward to an immersive perspective on the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis with highlights including Sabrina Ionescu and Stephen Curry's participation in the first-ever NBA vs. WNBA 3-Point Challenge.

The Weeknd returns later this year with an exclusive immersive experience on Apple Vision Pro. Additionally, elite surfers will be featured riding massive waves off Teahupo’o, Tahiti.

Apple is collaborating with Blackmagic Design to support professional filmmakers through a new production workflow for Apple Immersive Video. This includes the URSA Cine Immersive camera and updated versions of DaVinci Resolve Studio and Apple Compressor.

More content captured in Apple Immersive Video will be released throughout the year.

Apple Vision Pro is available in Australia, Canada, China mainland, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, the U.K., and the U.S. Users can preview Apple Immersive Video via free demos at local Apple Stores or access it through various apps depending on their region.
