Meta introduces verified subscription plans for Indian businesses

Meta Platforms has announced the introduction of Meta Verified subscription plans for businesses on Instagram and Facebook in India. This initiative follows a small test launched last year to refine the subscription toolkit aimed at helping businesses achieve their goals on Meta's apps. The company expanded this initial test earlier this year from one subscription plan to four, and last month introduced Meta Verified for businesses on WhatsApp during the Conversations Conference.

The enhanced Meta Verified business offering on Facebook and Instagram includes a verified badge, improved account support, impersonation protection, and additional features designed to aid discovery and connection. These features aim to drive growth and support various business needs on Meta's platforms.

"Our enhanced offerings are based on feedback from businesses as well as market research since we started the test last year," stated a representative from Meta. "Business owners have told us that they value the ability to get verified because it helps provide credibility and gives customers more confidence to engage with them."

Meta Verified subscriptions in India are currently available for purchase only via iOS or Android for businesses using Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp. Businesses can choose individual subscriptions for each platform or opt for a bundled purchase covering both Facebook and Instagram.

The four available subscription plans—Meta Verified Business Standard, Meta Verified Business Plus, Meta Verified Business Premium, and Meta Verified Business Max—offer varying levels of benefits tailored to different business needs. All plans include a foundational toolkit comprising the verified badge, account support, and impersonation protection. Additional features are provided based on the specific plan chosen.

Enhanced support is integral to all offerings. It ranges from access to chat or email with agents to requesting callbacks from agents or dedicated case monitoring. Businesses can also add more links in their Reels or access more profile-enhancing features as they progress through higher-tier plans.

An introductory offer is available for these subscriptions starting at INR 639 per month for a single app and going up to INR 21,000 per month with a 12-month introductory offer for two apps. After 12 months, standard rates will apply starting at INR 639 per month for a single app and up to INR 30,000 per month for two apps.
