Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant today about Israel's response to the Houthi attack that occurred on July 19 in Tel Aviv, which resulted in the death of one Israeli citizen and injuries to others. Secretary Austin acknowledged that Israel's action followed months of Houthi attacks against the State of Israel. The Secretary reaffirmed the United States' ironclad commitment to Israel's security and Israel's right to self-defense.
