Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has made the following nominations:
Air Force Lt. Gen. John D. Lamontagne has been nominated for appointment to the grade of general, with assignment as commander, Air Mobility Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Lamontagne is currently serving as deputy commander, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, and deputy commander, U.S. Air Forces Africa, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.
Air Force Lt. Gen. Steven S. Nordhaus has been nominated for appointment to the grade of general, with assignment as chief of the National Guard Bureau, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Nordhaus is currently serving as the commander of Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region and commander of First Air Force (Air Forces Northern), Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.
Air Force Lt. Gen. Randall Reed has been nominated for appointment to the grade of general, with assignment as commander of U.S. Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Reed is currently serving as deputy commander of Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base.
Air Force Maj. Gen. Michael L. Ahmann has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander of Continental U.S North American Aerospace Defense Command Region and commander of First Air Force (Air Forces Northern), Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. Maj Gen Ahmann is currently serving as director of Programs and Resources (J-8) at the National Guard Bureau in Washington D.C.
