The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party is holding a hearing today titled "The Great Firewall and the CCP’s Export of its Techno-Authoritarian Surveillance State."
Chairman Moolenaar's opening remarks will be followed by testimonies from several experts. Mr. Nat Kretchun, Senior Vice President for Programs at the Open Technology Fund (OTF), will provide his insights. Dr. Zack Cooper, Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and Mr. Xiao Qiang, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of China Digital Times, are also scheduled to testify.
The hearing aims to explore the implications of China's surveillance technology both domestically and globally.
