The Defense Media Activity (DMA) and the American Forces Network (AFN) invite their overseas audiences to enjoy the military network's full coverage of the 2024 NFL season, beginning Thursday, September 5.

With support from the National Football League (NFL), AFN will stream all NFL games on its free television app, AFN Now. The availability of every kick-off through to the Super Bowl is a first for the AFN streaming app. Complete season coverage will be a combination of traditional television and live streaming on AFN Now, with video-on-demand for later viewing.

"The NFL's continued partnership and support of U.S. military audiences overseas has been tremendous," said Jim Alexander, Director of the AFN Broadcast Center. "The game access the NFL has provided U.S. service members and their families this year is beyond measure and so appreciated by our military forces serving overseas."

The video-on-demand service now allows viewers not to miss any moment of this Fall's NFL action. With additional content from the NFL channel, fans on AFN Now can continuously stream highlights, replays, and exclusive NFL content 24/7.

"This is our second full season covering the NFL on AFN Now and die-hard military football fans are going to be thrilled," said Kim Antos, Chief of AFN Digital Media. "In addition to all 272 regular-season matchups and postseason playoffs, this year's coverage includes access to the NFL Network's own content, archived games, highlights and analysis."

The 2024 NFL season begins September 5 when the Baltimore Ravens take on Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football. AFN television will air the game live while simultaneously streaming it through AFN Now. Viewers are encouraged to download the app from Google Play or Apple App store and register before kickoff.

AFN Now will make available those NFL games not shown on regular AFN television as video-on-demand within 24 to 48 hours after they end for seven days. Audiences can stream these games on up to four devices including smartphones, tablets or streaming devices like Roku, Apple TV or Amazon Fire Stick.

"AFN is a service all overseas military members and their families are able to access," said Antos. "AFN Now offers audiences the ability to stream a wide variety of news, sports, movies and entertainment on their favorite devices for free."

NFL fans stationed overseas simply need to download AFN’s free app, AFN Now, and register.

Recent coverage of the Paris Summer Olympics on AFN Now far exceeded expectations with more than 25 thousand hours streamed in its first week. The app currently streams 23 linear channels offering a wide range of sports programming including NBA and MLB games, WWE events and U.S Open matches. Launched two years ago, it is now installed on over 71 thousand mobile devices worldwide proving highly popular with military audiences.

AFN Now is available to service members, families and retirees living overseas who must be verified by Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). Users can register at afnnow.net with around-the-clock support available via DMA.AFNnow.Help@mail.mil.
