On behalf of the United States of America, congratulations and warm wishes are extended to the people of Armenia on their 34th Independence Day. As the first country to recognize Armenia’s independence, the United States continues to support Armenia as it thrives within the community of democracies.
Armenia has developed an inclusive economy increasingly connected to the world through collaboration with the United States and international partners. Trade between the United States and Armenia has approximately doubled over the past decade. Efforts are underway to diversify Armenia’s energy supplies and ensure energy security for its people and the region. The strong Armenian diaspora in the United States and worldwide bolsters growing people-to-people ties, which remain a cornerstone of this relationship. Collaborative efforts aim to create greater prosperity for both nations and enhance stability and security in the South Caucasus.
As this significant day is commemorated, the United States reaffirms its steadfast support for Armenian democratic aspirations, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. The commitment to accountable governance and rule of law is honored amid current challenges. The pursuit of a durable and dignified peace for the South Caucasus region remains a priority.
