Biden Administration announces new $375 million security aid package for Ukraine

The Department of Defense (DoD) has announced additional security assistance for Ukraine to bolster its defense against Russian aggression. This support includes a Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) package valued at approximately $375 million, aimed at providing Ukraine with critical capabilities.

The PDA package comprises various military equipment and munitions, including air-to-ground weapons, rocket systems ammunition, artillery munitions, armored vehicles, and anti-tank weapons. Specific items listed in the package are:

- Air-to-ground munitions

- Ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS)

- 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition

- Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missiles

- Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems

- M1117 Armored Security Vehicles

- Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles

- Light tactical vehicles

- Armored bridging systems

- Small arms

- Patrol boats

- Demolitions equipment and munitions

- Spare parts, ancillary equipment, services, training, and transportation

This announcement marks the sixty-sixth tranche of equipment provided from DoD inventories to Ukraine since August 2021. The United States remains committed to working with around 50 Allies and partners through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group to ensure Ukraine receives the necessary support.
