Meta has introduced new AI features aimed at enhancing user experience across its platforms. The announcement was made during the Connect event, highlighting several updates to Meta AI and other AI products.

Meta AI now supports voice interaction on Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram Direct Messages. Users can ask questions or request explanations from Meta AI, which will respond audibly. "You can now use your voice to talk to Meta AI on Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram DM," the company stated. Users will also have the option to choose from various voice options for their assistant, including voices of celebrities like Awkwafina and John Cena.

Additionally, Meta AI has gained the capability to analyze photos shared in chats. It can identify objects in images and provide information about them. For instance, users can share a photo of a flower and ask Meta AI what type it is. The tool also allows for photo editing directly within chats by specifying changes such as altering outfits or backgrounds.

A new translation tool is being tested by Meta AI for creator content. This tool aims to automatically translate audio in Reels into different languages with dubbing and lip-syncing features. Initial tests are focused on translating videos between English and Spanish for creators in Latin America and the US.

Meta is expanding its Imagine features on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. These features allow users to create personalized themes for their chats using AI or generate images based on their interests directly in their feeds.

For businesses, Meta is rolling out business AIs that interact with customers through click-to-message ads on WhatsApp and Messenger in English. These AIs assist with customer inquiries, product discussions, and purchases. Over a million advertisers have adopted Meta's generative AI ad tools recently.

Meta claims that ad campaigns utilizing these generative AI tools have seen an 11% higher click-through rate and a 7.6% higher conversion rate compared to those not using these features.

The company emphasized its commitment to developing more intelligent and useful AI technology: "From voice and vision features to new tools to help businesses grow, our AI technology is now smarter."
