Ray-Ban Meta glasses receive new AI features and expanded partnerships

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Ray-Ban Meta glasses, initially launched to great demand, are now receiving new AI features and expanded partnerships. These updates aim to enhance user experience by integrating advanced functionalities and more collaborative efforts.

Meta has introduced several improvements to the AI capabilities of the glasses. Users can now initiate conversations with Meta AI using "Hey Meta" and continue without repeating the phrase. The glasses also offer memory assistance, such as remembering parking spots or setting reminders through voice commands.

Additionally, users can ask Meta AI to record and send voice messages on WhatsApp and Messenger. This feature is useful when hands are occupied or accessing a phone is inconvenient. The integration of video with Meta AI provides real-time help for activities like exploring new cities or grocery shopping.

A significant update includes real-time speech translation for Spanish, French, and Italian into English via the glasses' open-ear speakers. This feature aims to facilitate communication during travel and break down language barriers.

Meta is expanding its partnerships to make the glasses more functional. Collaborations with Be My Eyes will assist blind and low-vision individuals through POV video calling. Integrations with Spotify, Amazon Music, Audible, and iHeart allow users to search, discover, and play content using voice commands.

A new limited edition set of Shiny Transparent Wayfarer frames will be available, showcasing the technology inside. Additionally, EssilorLuxottica’s UltraTransitions® GEN S™ lenses are being added to the Ray-Ban Meta collection for better adaptability in varying light conditions.
