U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal held the 6th ministerial meeting of the U.S.-India Commercial Dialogue today. The leaders reviewed progress since their last meeting in March 2023 in New Delhi, India.

During the discussions, they assessed joint efforts under initiatives like the India-U.S. Strategic Trade Dialogue and the Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program (SCCP). They also outlined future collaboration priorities.

Both officials emphasized the significance of maintaining momentum on shared economic goals through the Commercial Dialogue. They expressed interest in exploring new areas of technology and trade while continuing work in existing sectors to enhance supply chain resilience and economic prosperity for both nations.

To advance these goals, they agreed to hold a mid-year review in 2025 led by senior government officials from both countries. This review will help implement a roadmap based on their economic vision, ensuring strong private sector involvement.

Additionally, Secretary Raimondo and Minister Goyal welcomed the reconvening of the U.S.-India CEO Forum on October 2, 2024, in Washington, D.C. They appreciated contributions from CEOs on both sides whose recommendations aim to guide policy decisions that strengthen commercial ties, promote growth and innovation, and support a resilient partnership between the two countries.
