Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Brian A. Nichols is set to visit Belize from October 5 to October 8. During his stay in Belmopan, Nichols will engage with Prime Minister John Briceño, Foreign Minister Francis Fonseca, and other senior government officials. The discussions will focus on security and inclusive economic prosperity both in Belize and the wider region.

Belize has shown its dedication to these goals through active participation in the Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation and by signing the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Belize Compact for Education and Energy Projects. Additionally, Assistant Secretary Nichols plans to meet with civil society representatives, political and business leaders, as well as partner organizations.
