ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial remains accessible to visitors, though there will be temporary changes due to maintenance work. From Friday, October 18, 2024, at 6 p.m. EDT until Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 7 p.m. EDT, the pedestrian tunnel connecting the Hayes Street Parking Lot and several lanes in South Parking will be closed for milling and paving.

Visitors using the Hayes Street Parking Lot during this period should follow signs directing them to alternative routes via Fern Street to reach the Pentagon Reservation. Handicapped parking remains available in Lane 1 for those with a valid disabled parking permit from their vehicle's registration state.

Furthermore, South Rotary Road from Columbia Pike (Route 244) ramp to Fern Street will also be closed during this timeframe. Additional closures include ramps from Columbia Pike (Route 244) to South Rotary Road; South Washington Boulevard (Route 27) to South Rotary Road; South Rotary Road leading to I-395 N / 14th Street Bridge; and Exit 8A from I-395 S towards South Parking.

It is noted that North Rotary Road and westbound Columbia Pike will not be affected by these activities.
