TechWomen program concludes after mentoring nearly 100 emerging leaders

Nearly 100 emerging leaders from the Middle East, Africa, and South and Central Asia concluded the 2024 TechWomen program this week. The Department of State's exchange program for women in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), TechWomen offers mentoring opportunities with U.S. women leaders in these fields to encourage more women and girls to pursue STEM careers.

The participants of the 2024 TechWomen program came from Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, the Kyrgyz Republic, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, the Palestinian territories, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Zimbabwe. They spent five weeks engaging in professional mentorships and cultural immersion with U.S.-based STEM counterparts in Chicago and the San Francisco Bay Area before concluding their journey in Washington D.C.
