Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken is set to deliver remarks for the Secretary of State’s Award for Global Anti-Racism Champions on October 21, 2024. The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Dean Acheson Auditorium at the U.S. Department of State and will be available via live stream on state.gov and the Department's YouTube channel.

Joining Secretary Blinken will be Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice Desirée Cormier Smith. The award honors individuals from Bolivia, Ghana, North Macedonia, Mexico, Nepal, and the Netherlands who have shown "exceptional courage, strength, leadership, and commitment to advancing the human rights of members of marginalized racial, ethnic and Indigenous communities," as well as combating systemic racism, discrimination, and xenophobia.

Media representatives are required to present identification to attend. Options include a U.S. Government-issued ID card or media-issued photo ID card. Alternatively, journalists can provide a letter from their employer verifying their employment along with an official photo ID.

The pre-set time for video cameras is scheduled for 10:15 a.m., while final access time for writers and still photographers is at 10:45 a.m., both from the 23rd Street entrance.
