The United States has announced a new military assistance package for Ukraine, valued at $400 million. This aid is intended to support Ukraine in its ongoing defense against Russian attacks. The assistance is provided under the Presidential Drawdown Authority from Department of Defense stocks.

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken confirmed the details on October 21, 2024. The package includes munitions for HIMARS, artillery ammunition, mortars, M113 armored vehicles, TOW missiles, Javelin missiles, AT-4 rockets, and satellite communications support. Additionally, it encompasses ammunition for crew-served weapons, small arms, grenades and training equipment, demolitions equipment and munitions. Spare parts and ancillary equipment are also part of the aid.

"The United States is committed to supporting Ukraine with the equipment it needs to strengthen its position on the battlefield," stated Secretary Blinken. He emphasized that this support aims to help Ukraine defend against "the Kremlin’s brutal aggression" and secure a "just and lasting peace."

President Biden has reiterated that both the United States and an international coalition will continue their support for Ukraine.
