The governments of the United States, Australia, India, and Japan have announced the continuation of their joint initiative, the Quad Cyber Challenge. This effort aims to enhance responsible cyber ecosystems and raise cybersecurity awareness. The focus for this year is on promoting cybersecurity education and building a strong workforce.

On October 10th, 2024, an event was hosted by the United States at the White House with participation from officials from Australia, India, and Japan. Anne Neuberger from the National Security Council and Cindy Marten from the Department of Education emphasized developing youth talent in cybersecurity. Students and educators attended to hear career stories from cybersecurity professionals. The event also recognized recipients of the Presidential Cyber Educator Award.

Following this event, Japan’s National Center of Incident Readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC) featured three Japanese cybersecurity experts who shared video messages about their experiences in the field to inspire students.

Later in October, Australia's Governor-General Sam Mostyn AC will host an event at Government House in Canberra. Female high school students will meet with Dr. Andrew Charlton MP and Lieutenant General Michelle McGuinness CSC to learn about careers in cybersecurity.

In India, during Cyber Security Awareness Month, a message on "Cyber Swachhta Abhiyaan" will be delivered by India's National Cyber Security Coordinator to emphasize cyber hygiene among students.

The Quad partners express gratitude towards those supporting these initiatives as they work to cultivate future generations of cybersecurity specialists across the Indo-Pacific region.
