Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem. The meeting focused on several key issues, including the aftermath of Israel's action to bring Yahya Sinwar to justice. Secretary Blinken highlighted the importance of securing the release of all hostages and ending the conflict in Gaza, aiming for lasting security for both Israelis and Palestinians.
Discussions also covered post-conflict plans that would enable Palestinians to rebuild their lives while ensuring governance, security, and reconstruction for Gaza. Emphasizing humanitarian concerns, Secretary Blinken urged Israel to take steps to increase and sustain humanitarian assistance flow into Gaza, ensuring it reaches civilians across the region.
