Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on October 25, 2024. According to Spokesperson Matthew Miller, the meeting focused on efforts to end the war in Gaza and secure the release of hostages. Discussions also covered post-conflict governance, security, and reconstruction plans aimed at establishing lasting peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.
In relation to Lebanon, Secretary Blinken emphasized the importance of a diplomatic solution that fully implements United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. He expressed gratitude for the UAE's ongoing humanitarian aid to Lebanon and Gaza.
The meeting also addressed deepening collaboration in artificial intelligence and related technologies as part of advancing the U.S.-UAE strategic partnership. This discussion builds on a shared vision outlined during President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s recent visit to the White House.
