The U.S. Department of State's Rewards for Justice (RFJ) program has announced a reward offer of up to $5 million for information that leads to the arrest or conviction in any country of individuals involved in the 1994 bombing of Alas Chiricanas Flight 901 (AC Flight 901) in Panama.

According to the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Hizballah was responsible for this attack. AC Flight 901 was en route to Panama City when a bomb detonated shortly after takeoff from France Field in Colón, Panama. The explosion resulted in the aircraft crashing into a remote jungle approximately 10 miles from the airport, killing all 21 passengers, including three U.S. citizens. Ali Hawa Jamal, who also perished in the bombing, was identified as having carried the bomb on board.

This incident occurred one day after another attack involving a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device at the Argentine Jewish Mutual Aid Society building in Buenos Aires, Argentina. That attack resulted in 85 deaths and injured 300 people. A group known as Ansar Allah, identified by the U.S. government as an alias for Hizballah, claimed responsibility for both attacks.

The Department of State urges anyone with information about those responsible for the AC Flight 901 bombing to contact RFJ through Signal, Telegram, or WhatsApp at +1-202-702-7843. Information will be kept confidential and relocation may be offered if necessary. Further details about this reward can be found on their website at www.rewardsforjustice.net.

The RFJ program is managed by the Diplomatic Security Service and has been active since its establishment in 1984. It has paid over $250 million to more than 125 individuals worldwide who provided actionable intelligence that helped address threats to U.S. national security.
