U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry have seized narcotics valued at over $2.1 million in a recent enforcement action. The seizure took place on October 30 at the Camino Real International Bridge import lot when a CBP officer directed a tractor trailer for further inspection.

During this secondary examination, officers found 60 packages containing approximately 162 pounds of suspected cocaine within the vehicle. The estimated street value of the narcotics is $2,167,372.

Port Director Pete Beattie commented on the operation, stating, “This large cocaine seizure in the cargo environment reflects the reality of the drug threat our frontline officers face every day.” He emphasized that their officers use extensive training and advanced technology to carry out these examinations as part of CBP's border security mission.

The narcotics, along with the tractor and trailer, were confiscated by CBP. Homeland Security Investigations special agents have launched a criminal investigation into the matter.
