The Battery Materials & Technology Coalition (BMTC) and Horizon Advisory have released a report indicating the United States' significant reliance on China for critical minerals. The report suggests that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has a strategic plan to dominate global electrification efforts, posing a threat to U.S. energy security.
Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) commented on the findings, stating, "This report outlines what we have long known to be true: the world is far too dependent on Chinese Communist Party-controlled supply chains for critical minerals. The CCP will use this mineral dominance to control the world economy, while manipulating countries, businesses, and people to its will." He expressed gratitude towards BMTC for their work in highlighting America's dependencies and urged lawmakers to address these concerns by reducing reliance on CCP-controlled critical minerals.
