The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has approved the 2025 budget for the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority. The decision was made after the Authority submitted its proposed annual budget to the FTC, following a rule that requires such oversight.
The FTC's process involved publishing the proposed budget in the Federal Register, allowing for public commentary. Ultimately, the Commission found that the proposed $80 million budget aligned with its oversight requirements.
The approval vote by the Commission was unanimous, with a 5-0 outcome.
The FTC continues its mission to promote competition and protect consumers. It emphasizes that it will never demand money or make threats and encourages individuals to report scams or fraudulent activities through ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
