Blink has introduced the Blink Sync Module XR, a new system hub designed to extend the range for its Outdoor 4 cameras, enhancing home security coverage. The Sync Module XR allows users to place their Blink Outdoor 4 cameras further from their homes while maintaining connectivity. The module provides coverage of up to 250 feet in XR mode and 400 feet in XR+ mode, which is four times the range of the standard Blink Sync Module.

Jonathan Cohn, Head of Product at Blink, stated, "We’re always looking for ways to make it easier for our customers to build a comprehensive home security system." He added that the new module addresses "one of the biggest pain points of outdoor cameras—limited Wi-Fi range that restricts where customers can install them."

The Blink Sync Module XR uses an extended range radio to enhance signal penetration through obstacles such as walls and vegetation. It is compatible with all existing Blink Outdoor 4 cameras, allowing users to install these devices in various locations around their property like fences or driveways.

The Blink Outdoor 4 camera system features a wire-free design and weather-resistant capabilities with up to two years of battery life. When combined with the Sync Module XR's extended range, it becomes a robust solution for full-property surveillance.

Additionally, the Sync Module XR acts as a centralized hub for managing Blink cameras via the Blink app. Users can easily control multiple cameras by arming or disarming them through this platform. The module supports up to ten cameras and offers local video clip storage with an optional MicroSD card slot.
